STITCHED, 2022-2024
"Stitched" is an acrylic and digital painting series. The idea was birthed out of the idea that everyone has experienced some level of pain, brokenness, separation, or tension in their life. These experiences make us more grounded and experience the small victories all the more.
I experiment and dive into emotions and tensions through my artwork. To evoke an emotional response, I use contrasting colors, light and dark, thick and thin brush and knife strokes. I experiment with “stitching together” layers of paint to mimic torn fabric in an abstract form, with the goal of simulating the feeling of holding life together by a thread. Pushing and pulling apart layers and shapes create movement, sometimes erratic and distressing, sometimes busy but balanced.

UNDONE SERIES 2024
The "Undone" series explores the depths of emotional distress and trauma through the medium of acrylic painting cut canvas. Each piece captures the rawness of destruction, inviting viewers to confront the complexities of human experience. The fragmented forms and vivid colors evoke a sense of chaos, reflecting the turbulent journey of healing. This collection serves as a powerful reminder of resilience amidst turmoil.

REFLECTIONS, 2021-2022
"Reflections" is a group of paintings that experiments with the darkness and tension between dark and light set against a calming abstract reflection of a floating brush stroke. Bright colors draw in the viewer, but I use aggressive brush stokes and thick paint to show a disparate place and an underlying tense mood.
